What is a Secure Ambulance? A secure ambulance is a specialist ambulance that can be used for a range of purposes, including transporting individuals with mental illnesses, learning disabilities, and challenging behaviours. Secure ambulances are equipped to ensure the safety of individuals and health care assistances on board. Features of these vehicles are likely to include

• reinforced interior panels that protect the driver and passenger from any possible disturbances or;
• to seclude a patent in a safe area within the ambulance to keep them and staff safe.

A secure ambulance will have secure locking systems to stop access and escape attempts and, video recording cameras to ensure greater levels of security and safety checks.

Over the years we have invested heavily in secure ambulance design and continue to research in how to improve the high standards we set within our industry. Our secure ambulances support the varying needs and risks that patients experience and exhibit when dealing with mental health illnesses.

All our secure ambulances are secured with locking systems and feature a compact and security focused design, this maintains a secure approach for safe and comfortable Mental Health Transport. We also have a number of secure ambulances that can accommodate wheelchair users. Our secure ambulances can support most risk levels including challenging behaviour however, subject to complexity of such risks including violence or other threats, it may be necessary to transport individuals in the safety of a Cell.
